Quick Dumpling Soup

If you keep frozen dumplings on hand, then can be cooked up more then one way to make a delicious dinner. This soup uses a chicken wonton style dumpling, but you could switch that out for vegetable, pork or even your favorite potsticker.



Vancouver, and all across lower mainland there are many little market that will sell handmade dumplings. Those are going to be your best bet flavour wise, but if you cant get local made, most chain grocery store will carry frozen dumplings too.




Quick Dumpling Soup

makes approx 3-4 servings


2-3 cloves garlic

2 green onions

1 inch piece of ginger

2 cups chicken broth

1 cup water

12-14 dumplings (frozen)

2 small bok choy bunches

Sesame seeds

Chili oil


Thinly slice garlic. Peel and finely mince or grate ginger. Chop green onions. Throw them all in a medium pot with broth and water.

Simmer liquid for 10-20 minutes. Add dumplings, boil for 5- 10 minutes (refer to dumpling instructions)

Add bok choy, simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Top with sesame seeds and chili oil. Enjoy!
